Liberties Cultural Association Events: September & October

The Dublin Festival of History runs from 24th September to 7th October. With events all across the city, its a great way to experience history and engage in lively debate.

Our own Liberties Cultural Association has three great events planned as part of the wider festival. All are free but booking is required in some instances:


On Sunday, September 30th, Micheal O Doibhilin will be your guide on a walk ‘In the Footsteps of Anne Devlin’
The tragic heroine of Robert Emmet’s farcical and failed 1803 rebellion with be brought to life through an historic Re-inactements provided by Tilemedia

Meet: Outside St Catherine’s Church on Thomas Street at 1pm 30th September

Join LCA on Friday, October 5th, for a lecture series entitled ‘Two Lord Mayors and an Engineer’, feat.

Ellie Cullen will talk about Richard Atkinson
Cathy Scuffil will talk about William Spence
Maria O Reilly will talk about Nathaniel Warren

Meet: Warrenmount Community Education Centre, Mill Street from 12 – 2pm, in association with Warrenmount CED

Last up, on Saturday, October 6th, join Liz Gillis on a walk exploring ‘The Liberties and the Irish Civil War 1922-23‘.
