“Call it heritage, rare charm, raw vitality, this place has a special place in Dublin’s social and cultural history”. This is how Anne Cassin presents The Liberties on last night’s edition of Nationwide.
The presenter then goes on to speak to businesses old and new, and to a number of local residents. The programme was a great showcase of the area, with focus on upcoming developments such as the Iveagh Markets. Owner Martin Keane confirmed work on this project is set to begin in Autumn of this year, while the nearby Bull Ring Market is also being rejuvenated.
The Teeling Whiskey Distillery was also visited during the show with owners Jack and Stephen explaining why they chose The Liberties as the home for Ireland’s newest distillery.
