Your Community: Getting Active, Getting Involved

Building a strong and resilient community requires everyone’s involvement. The Community Development team at Dublin City Council South Central Area Office is now working on a programme to revitalise and restart residents and community groups in Dublin 8 and to encourage engagement with programmes such as National Tidy Towns, Pride of Place and City Neighbourhoods.

The partnership between the Council and local groups will support environmental initiatives, clean-ups, greening, deal with issues and support family life and youth across the area. Currently the initiative is working towards participation in┬áSpring Clean Month in April. That’s a great opportunity to get involved and active to make The Liberties and surrounding neighbourhoods look their very best.

If you would like to get involved with a local community group or are looking for more details on the initiatives above them why not contact the Community Development team at, or speak to your neighbours about organising your own clean-up or Liberties in Bloom initiative.
