A new programme from The Digital Hub offers young people a chance to envisage Dublin 8 in 2050

The Digital Hub as announced an exciting new research programme for young people in Dublin 8.  Critical ChangeLab // Beta is a unique and engaging afterschool initiative that aims to empower young individuals, aged 15 to 17, to envision and shape the future of Dublin 8. This new programme is in partnership with Trinity College Dublin School of education, the Trinity Long Room Hub Arts and Humanities Research Institute, and HoloGen. Participation in the programme is free.

Unveiling the new initiative, Caroline Viguier of The Digital Hub said “Critical ChangeLab // Beta encourages participants to explore the potential future of Dublin 8 in the year 2050 through the use of innovative tools, including augmented and virtual reality. They will create a digital art installation that will be showcased at the BETA festival later this year, a new festival of art and technology hosted at The Digital Hub”.

Program Details:

  • Participants must be aged 15 to 17 as of September 1st, 2023, and should reside in Dublin 8 or nearby areas.
  • Participants must be available to attend seven weekly workshops from September 11th to October 29th, 2023.
  • Participants must also be available to actively participate in the BETA festival, taking place between November 2nd and 5th at The Digital Hub.
