An exciting programme for Culture Night Dublin 2023 has just been unveiled. The annual nocturnal celebration of culture and creativity in the capital will be held on Friday, 22 September, and boasts an impressive lineup of over 250 participating venues and more than 300 captivating events. As ever, The Liberties and Historic Quarter are well represented. Here’s some of the highlights to catch in Dublin 8:

Join The Liberties Weavers for demonstrations and talks about the area’s most iconic craft industry from 5pm to 9pm in The Timberyard, St Luke’s Avenue. More here.

View ‘Intention, Place and Legacy’, an exhibition by John Roch Simons in the historic Tailors’ Hall on Back Lane, and get a chance to visit the city’s oldest surviving guildhall. More here.

Climb the 86 steps of the tower of Christ Church Cathedral and discover the belfry and ring some of the city’s most iconic bells. More here.

Take a tour of Ireland’s first purpose built psychiatric hospital – St Patrick’s Mental Health Hospital – and learn about its connections to the famous Dean Jonathan Swift. One tour only so book ahead. More here.

Browse the stalls and enjoy some good evening vibes at a special Culture Night ‘We Love Markets Flea’ at The Digital Hub from 4pm until 9pm. More here.
