Stop for a coffee at the famous Mannings Bakery and Cafe on Thomas Street  – its an institution in these parts, famous for its delicious cream cakes.  You’ll also find great independent coffee stops such as Copper Lane on Thomas Street or Legit on Meath Street.  For lunch or weekend brunches head to Two Pups on Francis Street, Ground State on James Street or try out the unique delights of The Fumbally Cafe near Newmarket.

Evening times you can sample the Michelin-starred Variety Jones on Thomas Street, or gastropub and restaurant Spitalfields on The Coombe. The Tenters is another great dining option at Mill Street.

Just a stone’s throw from the city centre, and less hectic than Temple Bar, The Liberties offers a more quirky and varied nightlife scene to keep you entertained after dark. You’ll find everything from top venues to friendly local pubs. Thomas Street acts as a spine of quality bars and venues while side streets are dotted with hot-spots. See top music and entertainment acts at Vicar Street Venue or catch some great live music at more intimate venues such as Thomas House PubArthur’sKennedys. The trendsetters in the area head for the Drop Dead Twice Taproom on Francis Street or Lucky’s on Meath Street or newcomer Dudley’s. You can even enjoy the ultimate D8 rooftop cocktail at the Aloft Hotel on Mill Street.

The area’s night-time buzz complements the many popular attractions in the area such as St. Patrick’s CathedralChrist Church CathedralThe Guinness Storehouse, and the funky Teeling’s Distillery or Dublin Liberties Distillery at Newmarket. You’ll often find some great cultural events in the churches, halls and galleries that dot the area.
