Life, Love The Liberties, Visit

The Liberties Festival, Dublin’s longest running community arts festival, makes a welcome return to live events this September with a packed programme of activities across four days, from 1st to 4th September.

With themes including Health & Wellbeing, Environment, Music, Culture and Family Day, the programme includes almost 100 events at venues across the neighbourhood. With something for every taste, the Festival features local artists and performers, is supported by local business and community groups, and places the diverse social character of The Liberties at its heart.

Among the highlights:

  • Four days of health and wellness activities in Bridgefoot Street Park; everything from Qi Gong to Yoga. You can also experience the Barrel Sauna at Clanbrassil Street
  • Activities to celebrate our environment, including a chance to meet the famous Bee8s, who busily pollenate our flowers. You can also learn about eating for free, with a foraging walk
  • Four days of amazing music at the Festival Main Stage beneath the iconic St Patrick’s Tower at The Digital Hub. You can also experience Elvis by Candlelight in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, enjoy traditional music at The Lamplighter on The Coombe and a Comedy Night
  • Glamour, glamour and more glamour at the Blue Rinse Ball in historic Saint Catherine’s Church on Thomas Street
  • The Duel of the Fates… otherwise known as the Garda vs Traders Football Match on the new Oliver Bond House pitch
  • Test your knowledge with a Liberties Quiz
  • Walking tours of The Liberties with In Your Shoes Walking Tours
  • Visit the amazing time capsule that is the Iveagh Trust Museum Flat on Patrick Street
  • Try your hand at bellringing in Christ Church Cathedral
  • And enjoy a Family Fun Day in St Audoen’s Park on Sunday 4th September

Most events are free. You need to book for Build Your Own Air Quality Sensor and the Iveagh Trust Museum Flat tours and payment is required for Elvis by Candlelight, the Comedy Night and Iveagh Trust Museum Flat tours. Bookings can be made via info@recdp.ie.

The festival runs Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th September.  Full details of all events at www.thelibertiesfestival.com or download the brochure below.
