Dublin City Council, in partnership with Fáilte Ireland, has announced a public art commission for The Liberties, and specifically the route from High Street to James Street. The commission is one of a number of interventions supporting The Dubline Discovery Trail and also supports the ongoing enhancement of the main streets of The Liberties, as well reflecting the strong art tradition in the area.
The brief is to provide a series of sculptural flagstones and pavement features to be located at various points along the route from High Street to James Street. The pieces should reference connections to the past, landmarks along the route, the area’s distinctive culture and community, the commercial and mercantile tradition on the area and features of contemporary life.
Further details on the commission, including how to apply can be found via the Dublin City Public Art Office. The closing date for stage 1 is 9th June 2016. All queries to publicart@dublincity.ie
