Detailed design of the area between Basin Lane and Fatima Luas is expected to be presented in Spring
With the completion before Christmas of work to Fatima Luas stop and the new south entrance to St James’s Hospital, attention turns to the second phase of the redevelopment of the linear park running from Basin Lane to Suir Bridge. Dublin City Council Parks Services published some initial concepts for the Phase II area, focused on the section from Basin Lane to Fatima Luas stop. The plans under development envisage creating a grassy amphitheatre space from the existing topography here, adding improved paths, a new playground, planted areas and a potential community garden.
The Parks Service propose to present a detailed design to local stakeholders by end of March, with a view to commencing the project towards the end of the year.
