A new Parklet has been installed on Francis Street as one of a series of interventions to help ‘reimagine’ and enliven the historic thoroughfare over the summer. The Parklet is a DCC Beta project designed to replace a car parking space with more pedestrian-friendly uses such as seating and mini-gardens. The ‘beta’ is a precursor to a planned redesign of Francis Street by Dublin City Council to create more public space and to revitalise and green the street.
The parklet is being trialled on Francis Street over the summer months and is located outside Cross Gallery and Badger & Dodo Cafe at No. 58 Francis Street. We’d be delighted to hear what you think – email stephen@libertiesdublin.ie.
