The 11th Annual Culture Night takes place in Friday 16th September and The Liberties & Historic Quarter is the place to be! There is a huge amount going in an area encompassing Dublin Castle, the two Cathedrals, lively Francis Street, Thomas Street and NCAD, St James Gate and the Guinness Storehouse and Newmarket and Teelings Distillery. Its the perfect evening (and the weather looks set to match it!) to explore one of the city’s most historic areas after 5pm. Look out for…

  • exhibitions and talks at Oliver Bond House as it celebrates its 80th year
  • a stunning projection installation at St James Gate showcasing Guinness and the city it calls home
  • galleries and craft shops galore on Francis Street
  • musical performances in the beautiful surrounds of St Werburgh’s Church
  • tours and tastings at Teelings of Newmarket
  • choral works and somgs of praise in the hallow’ed surrounds of St Patrick’s Cathedral
  • social history and heritage searches at the National Archives on Bishop Street and the History Hub at O’Shea Merchants
  • challenging theatre from Outlandish Theatre Platform at the rediscovered Rita Kelly Theatre on Cork Street (Coombe Hospital).
  • and much much more!

See the full listing of events in The Liberties & Historic Quarter or download the Culture Night app.

Added to Culture Night is Dublin Park(ing) Day with a series of colourful parklets popping-up across the city to challenge how we divy up public space and inform how we make the city more liveable and beautiful.
