One of the largest cultural events Ireland has ever held, and the biggest parade to ever pass through the streets of Dublin, the Easter Rising Commemorative March was held on Sunday. A beautiful sunny day provided the perfect conditions for the day of celebration. Passing through areas of Dublin 8, the march was held along with a wreath-laying ceremony on O’Connell St, flag raising at Dublin Castle, and a flyover by the Irish Air Corps. Each was displayed on huge screens dotted throughout the city centre. The incredible display can be watched on RTE Player here.
2016 is a year of commemoration, with events being held throughout The Liberties and Dublin 8. Check out some of these activities here.
