Life, Love The Liberties

The Liberties Dublin bursts to life this summer with lively festivals, creative workshops, some of the city’s top visitor attractions and a fascinating programme of walks and talks to help you explore the area.

Summer kicks off with the Graduate Festivals at National College of Art & Design. Already in full swing, the Festival’s climax will be the main grad shows from 18th to 26th June at the main campus on Thomas Street. Its the ‘must-see’ design and art exhibition of the year, which this year features both the three-year and four-year degree graduates: bigger and better than ever! The showcase involves 540 students, across 12 distinct design disciplines, over 4 venues on Thomas Street and James Street and Marrowbone Lane. More details at www.ncad.ie.

In July, the streets of the area come alive for the award-winning Liberties Festival 2016 – now in its 46th year, its Dublin’s oldest and best community arts festival. Check out the full programme at www.libertiesfestival.ie. The Festival runs from 18th to 23rd July and most events are free.

And to help you explore and engage with the area over Summer we’ve a great programme of walks and talks over July and August. Most events take place on Thursday mornings, unless otherwise stated. Huge thanks for our fantastic guides and to the support of Dublinia, Teeling Whiskey Distillery and Lost Fashion Tours. You’ll find the full programme here. Booking is essential for all tours – click on the tour to travel to the eventbrite page.
