Work commenced in January 2026 on the second phase of extensive works designed to safeguard the The Iveagh Markets on Francis Street into the future and to hasten its return to public use. The work focused primarily on the roofs of the two market halls.  Here’s an update on the progress to date.

Balcony, Dry Market
Completion of a new concrete retaining structure to support the piers and columns holding up the balcony in the Dry Market. This wall will be beneath the floor level in the refurbished market.
