Open House Dublin 2024

Open House Dublin runs from 12th to 20th October with access to buildings, walking tours and architecturally-themed talks and exhibitions running across the city. This year’s festival features 200+ events for everyone to experience free of charge, with guided tours of buildings, outdoor spaces and private houses, conversations on current topics, exhibitions, architects’ studio visits, workshops and more on the line-up. The festival is presented by the Irish Architecture Foundation.

Among the highlights here in Dublin 8 you’ll find:

• Behind the scenes access to Saint Patrick’s Cathedral including special tours of its roof and Minot Tower.
• A walk exploring green spaces The Liberties with the D8 Green Bridge Forum
• Tours of Christ Church Cathedral and Saint Audoen’s Church
• An Open Studio with D8-based Metropolitan Workshop architectal practice
• A chance to visit and explore Archbishop Marsh’s Library
• Guided walking tours of Royal Hospital Kilmainham gardens and a special access tour of the 17thC Hospital and its spectacular public rooms
• Culture Club events at the Kilmainham Mill, currently undergoing refurbishment as a new cultural centre
• A tour of Bonham Court, a new 57 unit social housing scheme overlooking Bridgefoot Street Park
• A walking tour exploring new and coming public realm refurbishments at Francis Street and Meath Street
• A visit to Newmarket Yards, a large new rental building with common areas at Newmarket
• A chance to see No 83 Rialto Cottages, a recently refurbished Dublin Artisan’s Dwelling Co house
• Architecture, Activism, Access and The Liberties, a walking tour of green spaces and architecture in Dublin 8
