Four free summer performances to enjoy through August

Opera in the Open returns for its 2026 season this August! The annual opera season is taking place on the four Thursdays of August, at the Dublin City Council Civic Offices Amphitheatre at Wood Quay.
Each opera performance is presented in an abridged format, narrated in English, and lasts one hour, fitting perfectly into the lunchtime slot from 1 to 2pm. Attendance is completely free of charge, and all are welcome!
The 2026 Programme details are as follows:
August 6th – Madama Butterfly (Giacomo Puccini).
August 13th – Dido and Aeneas (Henry Purcell).
August 20th – Orphée Aux Enfers – Orpheus in the Underworld (Jacques Offenbach).
August 27th – Gala performance celebrating the work of Giuseppe Verdi.
